this immediately made me think of the dream of “going off the grid” that so many people have nowadays. it’s like they don’t consider the immense initial financial investment it would take to quit your job, buy home with lots of land, start a farm, grow your own food… and funny enough those of us that want this the most, that want to escape the grind, can’t afford to. we have to keep logging onto slack, or clocking in at work to make ends meet. and sadly most of us will never save enough to get close to that dream. it truly is a luxury.

yes like it’s possible but we definitely have to spend a lot of time working to earn and yet the possibility of sudden death is also there along the way so it’s hard to decide wether to just live the moment with the current life you have or continue grinding with the possibility. and it’s not even the same with people with generational wealth at all. but thank you for sharing, rain.

you’re right, mystery is a luxury. Some people’s absence looks like opulence. Mine looks like I lost the plot halfway through.

I don’t know if I can afford it

I would argue this misses the point. I find mystery comes from not talking. Being present but saying little. Having a deep internal world. Not letting everyone know how you feel.

I think you can be mysterious right now! In your current circumstances, just furrow your brow and look deep in thought ;)
